Finally, Grover & Baker ’s No.1 has arrived at Brooklyn's studio from Ottawa, Illinois today.. As you can see in Mr. Aota's book [2-9], it's one of the two models used at Jacobs' first factory. Now I have both of them including Singer No. 2 currently in operation. According to British denim critics, only BBM around the world use these sewing machines. Really?

SInce I have a lot of orders, I just cleaned it quickly as soon as it arrived, but it is mint condition even though she was made in 1867. I still can't believe I got this beautiful lady beast.

After service, we will have a test sewing and report how they look like.

ついにGrover & Baker’s No.1 がイリノイのオタワより900マイル旅して、Brooklynのスタジオに届きました。青田さんの本にある通り[2-9]参照、Jacobsの最初の工場で使われた２機種のうちの１つですね。これで現在稼働しているSinger No.2と合わせ両方揃いましたね。イギリスのデニム評論家によると、これらのミシンを使っているのは、世界中でBBMだけらしいです。知らんけど。
注文溜まっているので、届いてすぐ検品がてらクリーニングだけしましたが、1867年製程度極上です。２機種を入手でき、それらで縫えることができるなんていまだ信じられません。
整備後テスト縫いをして報告します。

足踏み用のボタンホールのミシンも２型入手してます。当時の足踏みミシンだけでウエストオーバーオールスを作れる日はそんな遠くない気がしてます。
