Early 1900 Part 5

本日TYPE 201としてリリースします。
ボタンホール以外の部分は全て足踏みミシンで縫います。
よりテイラーメイドに近づきました。

今回はSinger 31という機種をメインで使います。1909年製の１本針の本縫いです。
ボタンホールはSinger 71で、ストレートホールです。これは資料がなくいつ作られたかわかりませんが1910年以前に作り始めた機種です。
シルエットはSOに近いです。SOに比べるとヒップが大きく、裾幅が少し狭い感じです。
外観の一番の大きな特徴は後ろのヨークのV字がきついところでしょうか。
ウォッチポケットの位置が高く、腰帯が真っ直ぐではありません。
縫製は極めて原始的で、オーバーロックを使いませんので生地端が処理されません。裏側の話しですが。
糸も太い糸を使わないので、運針数を増やして耐久性をあげます。
貧弱な細かいステッチに萌えてください。
糸の色選べるようにしました。CopperとTopaz Gold。前者がリネンの糸の色、後者が綿糸の色に近いです。このモデルはどちらか単色で縫います。
新しく手配したアメリカ製のリベットがいい感じです。今までは長かったのでカットして使っていましたが、丁度良い長さなので上部が丸くなりません。
ボタンは日本のYKKで見た目に近いものを手配できました。鉄製の予定です。
革パッチが布パッチが選べます。布パッチは古いプリントプレスを使ったBOWERY BLUEの文字のみです。

This time, I mainly use Singer 31. This is a 1 needle lockstitch machine made in 1909.
The buttonhole is Singer 71, which is a straight hole. This is a model made before 1910 though I don’t know when it was made because there is no documentation.
The silhouette is close to Type SO. Compared to SO, it has a larger hip and slightly narrower open legs.
The most important feature of the appearance is that the V-shape of the back yoke is tight.
The watch pocket is high and the waist belt is not straight.
Sewing is extremely primitive method and does not use overlocks stitches so the material edges are not processed. Especially inside.
As the thread does not use thick thread, the number of stitches are increased to improve durability.
Please enjoy the fine stitches.
You can choose the color of the thread. Copper and Topaz Gold. The former is closer to the color of linen threads and the latter is closer to the color of cotton threads. This model is sewn in either solid color.
The newly arranged American rivets are a nice touch. Until now, it was long, so I used it by cutting it, but since it is just the right length, the top does not become round.
I was able to arrange the buttons that were close to what they looked like at YKK in Japan. It will be made of iron.
You can choose a leather patch or a cloth patch. The cloth patch is only BOWERY BLUE letters using an old printed press.
